Fashion

Fashion is the trend of nowadays women.

Women are caring about fashion more than caring about gaining information or knowledgement. The first impression you take about someone is the outer appearance, the look. "She is fashionable" this is our first statement when we see a lady or "she is not stylish". So the interest in fashion increased.

You see "x" is wearing something makes you laugh, why???? Because what's she wearing is silly, in her opinion she is trendy even though she looks like a clown. We like to be fashionable to the extent that the fashion suits our traditions, environment, our body shape and our age.

We should take into consideration all those issues when we choose our clothes.

I had lived in Saudi Arabia for many years. A lot of money spent for clothes. Woman there is ready to pay imaginary amount of money for a dress from Christian Dior or sunglasses from Chanel.

For me, I really like famous brands which follow the latest fashion putting into consideration my budget. It's ok to wear from famous brand but be logical at the same time.

Bribery and Corruption

Bribery and corruption are the main characteristics of our suites those days.

If you go anywhere all over the country holding your formal paper to stamp or to be signed from an officer

The bribe should be one his most important part of your paper.

To finish your officer procedures or to fasten them or to skip over laws you should pay the bribe   . The bribe becomes a law what a funny law   !!!

Bribe interferes all the domains, the port, the politics, the official affairs.

To win match you pay for the referee, to win a political race you pay for the electors, to complete an official affair you should pay to the official

The bribe becomes something essential, hence the corruption speared over all our country

Every president in chary, one of his main points his agenda is to get rid of bribery and corruption.

After how many days this issue is faded from the agenda and becomes, from the forgotten.

Sexual Harassment

Sexual harassment seems to be relatively new issue in Arab countries.

Indeed, it has many phases and places. It may happen at work, traffic jam or mix schools and universities.

In my opinion, one of the reasons for spreading such a phenomenon is the way the women dressed. Some women go to public places or work locations wearing seductive cloths which might entice those who are psychologically speaking ill.

Of course, I am not generalizing this topic, with my respect to all civilized ones.

women and dowry

Dowry is the money, goods or estate that given from the husband to the wife in their wedding
Dowry is an ancient custom. In certain societies the dowry formed a part of an exchange wealth between intermarrying families.
In India the dowry causes some problems for the bride’s family
The father of the bride is the one who gives the dowry for the groom. Some families are killed in case the father cannot catch up the sum. So the number of killed people because of dowry is six and seven thousands each year.
I am going to tell you a funny story about dowry in Jawa Island in Pacific Ocean.  Each one of the couple who wants to get the marriage license should bring 25 rat tails. This rule was issued by the government of Jawa to reduce the rats which were threaten for Rice trees .The funny thing about this rule that the number of rat tails increase or decrease depending on the beauty of the bride.

Bloom's Taxanomy

Putting Bloom's Taxanomy into practice in class rooms is very effective in the process of developing students thinking. There are six categories in the thinking process. They are organized from the lower order thinking skills to the higher order thinking skills as follows:
  • Remembering- Recognising, listing, describing, identifying, retrieving, naming.
  • Understanding- Interpreting, summarising, inferring, paraphrasing, classifying, exemplifying.
  • Applying- Implementing, carrying out, using, executing.
  • Analysing- Comparing, organising, deconstructing, attributing, outlining, finding.
  • Evaluating- Checking, hypothesising, critiquing, experimenting, judging, testing.
  • Creating-  Designing, constructing, planning, producing, inventing, devising, making.
From my point of view, the most important thing here is to have the ability and patience to put those element into practice. The result would be fabulous

Integrating Technology with Education

Technology Integration is the use of technology tools in general content areas in education in order to allow students to apply computer and technology skills to learning and problem-solving. Generally speaking, the curriculum drives the use of technology and not vice versa.
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has established technology standards for students, teachers and administrators in K-12 classrooms. The ISTE, a leader in helping teachers become more effective users of technology, offers this definition of technology integration:
"Curriculum integration with the use of technology involves the infusion of technology as a tool to enhance the learning in a content area or multidisciplinary setting... Effective integration of technology is achieved when students are able to select technology tools to help them obtain information in a timely manner, analyze and synthesize the information, and present it professionally. The technology should become an integral part of how the classroom functions — as accessible as all other classroom tools. The focus in each lesson or unit is the curriculum outcome, not the technology."
Integrating technology with standard curriculum gives students a sense of power, but also allows for more advanced learning among broad topics. Technology contributes to global development and diversity in classrooms and helps develop upon the fundamental building blocks needed for students to achieve more complex ideas.

Emotional Intelligence

Emotion. In this model, emotion refers to a feeling state (including physiological responses and cognitions) that conveys information about relationships. For example, happiness is a feeling state that also conveys information about relationships -- typically, that one would like to join with others. Similarly, fear is a feeling state that corresponds to a relationship -- the urge to flee others.

Intelligence. In this model, intelligence refers to the capacity to reason validly about information.

How is school leadership connected with Emotional Intelligence?

I’d like to look at the link between school leadership and emotional intelligence. I was forwarded on an article on this very subject a while back. It makes for interesting reading, here’s the main points.

  • On top of this, supervisors and staff rated the named principal using the same criteria and scoring system.
  • Results showed that the self scoring and staff/supervisor scoring tallied in a major way.
  • Above average emotionally intelligent principals tended to be stronger in4 scales. These were emotional self awareness, self-actualisation, empathy and interpersonal skills.
  • Female principals scored higher in interpersonal skills but there were no other differences noticed between the sexes.
  • The study also referred to Humphrey’s defintion of task-orientation leadership and relationship orientation leadership. People often think that being a leader (relationships)is more important than a manager( task) when in fact, they are intertwined. It found that task-orientated EI skills like emotional awareness, self-actualisation, problem solving, flexibility and impulse control were the most important ones. In the relationship-orientated skills, the emotional inteligence skills that were the most important in an effective school principal were empathy, interpersonal skills, flexibility and problem solving.
  • Note that problem solving and flexibility were in both task and relationship orientated emotional intelligence skills for an effective school leader.
  • So, what did these reports recommend? That professional development programs for school leaders needed to focus on developing these EI skills and competencies by using EI assessment tools in the recruitment and succession planning of incoming and outgoing principals.
  • The study can be found here.

So, effective leadership is not based on making things easier or giving more capitation grants to schools. Of course, these things wuld be nice but it is more important for principals to keep their own mental and emotional level healthy. Book yourself in for an EI assessment and work on a practical skill-based emotions pathway. It will help your staff, family and the children.
